Hashtags For Creatives
Instagram is such an amazing platform. I love the community, inspiration and opportunities it gives you to meet people within your niche. Instagram has grown to be one of the most popular marketing tools with millennials, and it's very clear why. We love visuals and are visually stimulated, (something I talk a little more about here) so there's a good reason influencers are now being targeted by name brands. If instagram can attract marketing opportunities from prominent brands, why shouldn't you be able to do that with your own small business?
Hashtags are an amazing tool that we might be taking for granted on a platform like instagram. There are so many ways to attract a certain demographic solely based on a hashtag. In the past few months I decided to start using hashtags on my instagram posts and I've been happily surprised with the outcome! I have been able to interact and find clientele who are interested in my work, and opportunities to collaborate with different brands. Here are a few things that helped me understand which hashtags to use and which hashtags have been most effective for my own branding and design business.
One of the best ways to understand which hashtags match your brand and mission is by searching for related ones in your search options. Some of my favorite hashtags are #thehappynow and #darlingweekend. Both of these hashtags match my brand's aesthetic, and I found they took me to other hashtags I hadn't used before. Under the hashtag you decide to do a little research on there are options for related hashtags right under it.
Experiment With Hashtags
Once you have found some related hashtags that match your brand, go ahead and try them on a post! If you're confused on which ones to use, seeing the photos people have posted with those specific hashtags can give you an idea of who you're targeting.
My Favorite Hashtags For Creatives
These are some of the hashtags I have found most effective and that have brought interest and collaborations for my brand. I was never loyal to hashtags before, but I honestly believe that using them has helped me reach a greater audience and in return people have shown interest in my work and in what I do. The Rising Tide Society has another great list of hashtags they love to include in their posts as well! These are some of my favorites and ones that I use every time I post:
#thehappynow #artifactuprising #darlingweekend #thatsdarling #mybeautifulmess #postitfortheaesthetic #creativebusiness #creativeentrepreneur #livefolk #liveauthentic #theeverydayproject #societygal #socality #actuallyco #girlboss #pursuepretty #peoplescreatives #creativityfound #makemoments #bedeeplyrooted #vsco #vscocam #thepursuitofjoyproject #folkgood #exploretocreate #tellon
I hope these are helpful next time you post on instagram! I have loved using them! What are some of your favorite hashtags for your small business?
